AB2K Donates £2000 to the Lighthouse Club Construction Industry Charity

It is a shocking statistic that every working day in the UK two construction industry employees take their own lives.  One of the toughest times of year for many is at Christmas.

The Lighthouse Club is only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families, throughout the year.  It works to end the stigma around mental health.

‘In previous years we have supported the charity with Christmas jumper day fundraisers and the like’, said John Murphy, AB2K Managing Director.  ‘To continue to support their vital work is a natural and obvious decision for us.’

LCI West of Scotland Welfare Officer Martin Allan came to collect the cheque and was welcomed by a team of staff.   ‘AB2K’s generous donation will go a long way to assist those in need and particularly from our region in this the most difficult of times’, he said.

Alan Gilmour, Chair of West of Scotland Branch expressed his delight over the donation.  ‘What a surprise to arrange collection of a £2000 donation from AB2K in support of the Lighthouse Club Construction Industry charity just before Christmas. This donation will help the charity in its ongoing programme of helping anyone with connections to the industry in their time of need.

AB2K MD John Murphy has invited The Lighthouse Club back for discussion in the new year to deepen the company’s involvement with the charity.
‘The committee in the Scotland West Branch are very much looking forward to working with AB2K in 2023 in continuing to expand the awareness of this amazing charity’, added Lighthouse Club Chair, Alan Gilmour.
