Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide accurate information in respect of engine hours worked for each item of plant
  2. Undertake maintenance of hire fleet vehicles as competently qualified to do so and as directed
  3. Undertake routine testing of safety-critical systems and equipment competently qualified to do so and as directed
  4. Undertake annual inspection of plant and equipment (without a lifting capability) to meet statutory requirements
  5. Complete and maintain comprehensive and accurate records, both electronically and hard copy, for each vehicle, item of plant and equipment for inspection, audit and compliance purposes. This will include the performance of all pre-hire checks, routine servicing, statutory inspection and breakdown repair
  6. Undertake the correct and regular maintenance and calibration of all equipment in accordance with instructions
  7. Maintain and inspect lifting accessories in line with current legislation
  8. Attend all training and development organised for you in relation to the work undertaken

Key Attributes, Skills & Qualifications

  • Heavy plant and equipment experience
  • Good mechanical engineering skills
  • Qualified or time-served diesel fitter
  • Certification to confirm the ability to move plant for maintenance purposes
  • Responsible, methodical and good attention to detail
  • Good team player with a “can-do” attitude
  • Polite, customer focused with the desire to do a good job
  • Holds current driving licence
  • CPCS card holder for machines or fitter?
  • Physically fit
  • Rail only requirement - PTS card holder
  • Rail only requirement - preferably with RRV experience
