The role will be responsible for handling enquiries both internally and externally ensuring plant, equipment and labour are supplied to the client’s requirements. The aim to maximise revenue from existing customers through effective account management, as well as identifying and winning new customer business.

The successful candidate will take ownership of their defined area, ensuring that outstanding customer service is provided day in, day out and promote the core values of the business with regard to Health & Safety.

Main Duties Include:

  • Handling hire enquiries/orders (inbound and outbound).
  • Answering all incoming calls in a polite, friendly and professional manner
  • Responsibility for the smooth running of key accounts and general orders.
  • Dealing with commercial team enquiries
  • Successfully generating and converting enquiries to hire orders
  • Ensuring any new customer has been credit checked and has an account opened with agreed credit levels
  • Ensuring an order number has been acquired before the deployment of any assets
  • Ensuring the client holds the appropriate level of insurance.
  • Recording all hire quotes on to the relevant system·
  • Ensuring all on/off hire orders are taken in detail and processed correctly.
  • Creating, inputting and ensuring the accuracy of orders onto the company system
  • Reserving and entering all machine bookings into syrinx, utilising the system to its full potential
  • Arranging transport for all hires.
  • Liaising with the transport department (CPC Holder) to maintain the appropriate level of documentation, run sheets, notifications, drivers hours, to comply with the current legislation
  • Deploying the efficient use of low loader operators under your control to supply the plant and equipment as required both internally and externally
  • Working closely with commercial, engineering, transport & other areas of the business
  • Assisting the Operations Manager in fulfilling his duties
  • Reporting of all incidents, accidents, near misses or damage on site to the appropriate representative
  • Working to agreed rates set by the company for hires.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Rental or Hire Desk experience in construction / plant machinery or other machinery
  • Knowledge of the rules and legislation relating to transport
  • Strong professional communicator over the telephone, email & face to face
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Strong administration & PC skills
  • Comfortable working in fast paced environments
